Day 3 – More of Kathmandu
Have a refreshing breakfast and proceed for a half day sightseeing tour of Kathmandu. At the onset, visit the famous Swayambhunath Stupa (Monkey Temple), a sacred Buddhist temple situated on a hilltop in Kathmandu Valley. The stupa is said to have risen spontaneously about 2,000 years ago. The name of this site in Tibetian language means “sublime Trees”, owing to the different varieties of trees that grow on the hill. Then head to Kathmandu Durbar Square and make a visit to Kumari Ghar (House of the Living Goddess) and get a glimpse of the goddess, who is worshipped by many Hindus. The temple architecture as well is something to behold, with its splendid carvings and red brick structures. Finally, return to the hotel for overnight stay.
